The client required a combined glass and drywall installation to create a sound-insulated partitioned area. The objective was to form a functional and private space using a mix of drywall bulkhead and glazed frontage with a door, while maintaining a clean and modern look.

  • Drywall bulkhead construction:
    • Double-boarded drywall with 50mm insulation to enhance soundproofing
    • Framework installed to support the structure and glazing

    • Glass panels fitted with integrated door
    • All ironmongery installed
    • Final manifestation applied for privacy and visual safety

Any Challenges?

Although the site was located on the first floor, access presented a significant challenge. The stairwell had a tight corner which made it impossible to carry full-sized boards and glass through safely. The team overcame this by:

  • Protecting the metal stair railings
  • Sliding materials through the gaps between the rails and up the stairs manually

This solution allowed the materials to be transported safely without damage to the property or finishes.
